SJSU College of Engineering 2009 Fall Open House

Our SAE International SJSU student chapter had the opportunity to speak with high school students, parents, and faculty about our programs and projects. We also had three of our members speak during the Mechanical and Aerospace Department student panel presentation where we spoke to parents about our experiences here at SJSU.

On display we had our Formula SAE and Baja SAE vehicles. We were instructed to "Make noise" by driving each vehicle around the College of Engineering. There were also projects from a variety of engineering clubs on display such as the Human Powered Vehicle by ASME, the Concrete Canoe by ASCE, and small scaled rockets and planes by AIAA.

Whose Your Pumpkin

Our SAE International student chapter helped Kristen and Brissa from the MAE Department carve pumpkins for the 2009 Fall Open House. We carved more than 7 pumpkins in less than 4 hours. This was the first time we did a pumpkin carving evening and it was a huge success. We carved the San Jose State University Logo, an SAE smiley face, Lil Wayne, and a few others.

SAE International SJSU at the American Le Mans Series held at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca

Our SAE International SJSU student chapter was sponsored a booth from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula. This gave us the perfect opportunity to raise awareness about our programs and projects. It also gave us a chance to network with motorsport industry leaders, SJSU Alumni, and Formula SAE participants from around the world.

Thank you to all our volunteers and a special thanks to MRLS and SCRAMP for making this happen.
